As Reparations, Dodge Announces “Prince of Persia” Masterclass with Iranian Actor “Jake Gyllenhaal”
Amidst all this midterms craziness, and consistent attacks by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on American soil, honest Iranians just can’t catch a break! So this spring, Dodge College of Media Arts has decided to give back: An exclusive Awards Chatter interview with a legend of Iranian cinema: Jake Gyllenhaal.
This BAFTA winner will be answering questions about his role in his mind-bending 2010 classic, “Prince of Persia”. This film is often hailed as a landmark flick for middle-eastern cinema, holding accolades such as “Joseph Conrad White Savior Award” and “Best 2010 Lego Set Theme”.
Gyllenhaal has shared his gratitude for this opportunity in an email addressed to Dean Stephen Galloway:
“Salâm Chapman University. Wow, look how far we’ve come. I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to uplift Persian voices at your beautiful university. I expect young, curious filmmakers will be moved by my performance. When Mike Newell gave me this role, I knew that, akin to our G.I’s today, I had a mission to save the Levant. But all fun and games of this action-adventure aside, I hope to show young filmmakers that Iran should NOT have a prince. But rather a strong committee selected by our Israeli brothers. Mashallah.”
